The country singer and beauty brand founder enjoyed a different kind of date. The couple that works together, forages together. At least, that’s what Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani did on a unique date in the forest.
The Voice coach and No Doubt front lady recently took their followers along with them when they went looking for morel mushrooms in the backwoods of their Oklahoma home. In a video uploaded to Gwen’s Instagram, she showed the couple and their dog Betty walking around. Never a dull moment with Blake, he asked her take out her phone to start capturing the fun moment.
“You better Instagram this,” Blake said in the April 24 clip, with Gwen running after him. “I don’t want you to show me. I want to find it myself,” she replied.
But before Gwen took off on her adventure, the “No Body” singer explained to his wife that he was shocked over his discovery out in the wild. “There’s so many mushrooms around us right now,” he explained to the camera. “I’ve never even seen anything like this.”
As the “Hollaback Girl” musician trekked around the grounds, she initially predicted that she wouldn’t spot any mushrooms herself. But when she saw just how many there were around her, she immediately reacted with excitement.
“Oh my gosh, Blake. They’re everywhere!” Gwen exclaimed. “I mean, oh my gosh! … What are you gonna do?”
In typical Blake fashion, he had the ultimate response for their findings. “[I’m going to] get ’em all! … Eureka!” he said.
Unsurprisingly, The Voice fans loved how the pair took an ordinary outdoor date in a new direction. Many enjoyed seeing them in their element so much, they shared their thoughts with Blake and Gwen in the comments.
“Who would [have] ever thought Gwen would be mushroom 🍄 hunting … [Love] it,” one person wrote on Instagram. “Look at you two picking groceries 🙌,” another follower joked. “This is beyond cool! I love seeing you in this environment! Nature is so awesome,” a different user added.
For those wondering what the married duo decided to do with their unexpected produce, they did what any chef would think of. Blake fried the morel mushrooms, which Gwen seemed to enjoy at the end of the clip. After this video, it may be time for the Sheltons to have their own cooking/nature show …
