Kelly Clarkson Fans Are Holding Back Tears Seeing Her Emotional Duet With Carol Burnett

As a Hollywood powerhouse, Kelly Clarkson is no stranger to making folks emotional with her soulful music. But when she recently paired up with Carol Burnett for a duet, it was unlike any other performance she’d done in the past.

During the April 26 taping of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the daytime TV host brought out Carol Burnett to talk about her upcoming special Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love. As the twosome talked about Carol’s legendary career, Kelly stunned audiences by performing a jazzy rendition of “I’m So Glad We Had This Time Together,” a.k.a. the iconic song Carol sang at the end of The Carol Burnett Show.

Not one to leave The Voice coach hanging, Carol picked up her own microphone and sang the rest of the verse with her. When the song concluded, the legendary TV personality tugged on her ear like she did to close out her iconic variety series.

When Kelly noticed that Carol did her signature move, she got out of her seat to give her a huge hug. As she did so, Carol had nothing but kind words for her: “Oh, you’re a doll.”

Much like The Voice coach, fans couldn’t believe that they witnessed Kelly and Carol sing the monumental track. Many folks proceeded to share their thoughts about it on social media, showing how moved they felt by the surprise.

“Wow … this was so amazing to watch. Best duet ever 🥺💗,” one person wrote on YouTube. “So nostalgic and I’m so emotional. Carol is such a beautiful human! 😘,” a different viewer commented. “OMG Kelly and the band had to be freaking out with excitement. That was epic. And they sounded beautiful together,” another user raved.

Kelly and Carol’s astounding duet is just one way the actress is promoting her special, which airs tonight on her 90th birthday on NBC. The televised event will celebrate her road to fame, along with showcasing the friendships she has made with other Hollywood legends along the way.
