Kate Beckinsale is living it up at Cannes with pretty much all of Hollywood, and she couldn’t look fitter. The 49-year-old actress just hit the red carpet in the a cool naked romper that framed her seriously sculpted legs. And all I can say is: WOW!
For Kate, staying in shape means working out six times a week—doing compound exercises with cardio intervals. In case you missed it, the Cannes Film Festival is happening now, and pretty much all of Hollywood is there. In mix: Kate Beckinsale, who just hit the red carpet in the coolest naked romper.
Kate rocked the ’fit a the premiere of La Passion De Dodin Bouffant and it’s pretty much a work of art. The romper has intricate beading all over with a tie-on chiffon skirt that frames Kate’s seriously sculpted legs. The overall effect is everything: The 49-year-old actress looks super fit and glowy.
Kate has been open about working hard to be strong. She previously told Women’s Health that she started exercising regularly after Michael Bay asked her to lose weight for 2001’s Pearl Harbor. While Kate said it “didn’t make me feel good” to be body shamed like that, she ended up falling in love with fitness.
“Now exercise is almost more important to me moodwise,” she said. “The other aspects feel like a great side effect.”
By the way, Kate doesn’t phone it in at the gym—she gets down to business from the start. “The whole hour is work,” her trainer, Brad Siskind, told WH.
Kate has dropped behind-the-scenes photos and videos from her workouts over the years, and—whew—they’re intense. Kate focuses a lot on compound exercises that work at least two muscle groups at once, like sit-ups with combination punches. She follows that with cardio intervals that can last anywhere from 90 to 120 seconds on the rower or VersaClimber and then cycles back through compound exercises.
Here’s Kate casually doing upside down crunches while hanging from a ladder if you want proof that she’s a total baller at the gym:
Kate is seriously flexible, too. Like, check out this high kick:
Kate told WH that she works out about six mornings a week with Siskind, and she makes sure to eat well too. That means having protein like chicken or eggs before she exercises. Later meals include salads with radishes, Brussels sprouts, and safflower oil; salmon; and potato chips here and there.
