A behind-the-scenes photo has social media buzzing about the Night Court reboot. Although many TV fans know Melissa Rauch for her previous role on The Big Bang Theory as saucy scientist Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz, she’s coming to your screens this fall in a completely new way — and fans can hardly contain their excitement.
Melissa will be starring alongside John Larroquette in the new NBC and Warner Brothers sitcom Night Court, a sequel to the 1984 show of the same name. When Melissa posted a behind-the-scenes photo on set to her Instagram in early August, fans pleaded with her to provide more info.
“You keep teasing us when does it air,” one fan commented on the post. Another said, “Do we have an air date yet? Or confirmation if @marshawarfield will be returning? I need these answers.”
Meanwhile, a few fans affectionately referenced her old BBT character, with one even saying “Anybody else […] reading the captions for the photos in Bernie’s voice? Or is it just me? 😂”
Luckily for fans, Melissa shared a more recent shot from the set the day the cast wrapped filming season one, which you can see below. Per Deadline, Night Court will center around Judge Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch), who plays the daughter of the late Judge Harry T. Stone, the lead role of the original series once played by the late Harry Anderson.
Abby follows in his footsteps and presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court. John Larroquette, a member of the original cast, reprises his role as Dan Fielding, a night court prosecutor. Together the two lead a cast that also includes India de Beaufort, Lacretta and Kapil Talwalkar.
There is currently no word on when viewers can expect to see the show, although HiddenRemote.com reports it will air on NBC sometime between January and March 2023. Here’s hoping Melissa will drop some more show info and backstage secrets as we inch closer to the end of the year.
