Kaley cuoco Baring Her Summer-Ready Body In A Tiny Bikini Embraces ‘Happy Girl Era’

The Flight Attendant season 2 immediately sets in motion a new mystery for Cassie Bowden (Emmy-nominated Kaley Cuoco) to entangle herself from, but perhaps the answer to the question we all want to know is, How do we get Cassie’s sexy-bombshell haircut and California-chic makeup?

While piecey bangs, long layers, and a messy top knot have become a Cassie/Cuoco staple, they’ve gotten a bit of an upgrade in season 2, which was by design and at a request from Cuoco herself. “I loved her makeup the first season,” makeup department head Erin Koplow tells Glamour. Koplow had previously overseen the makeup department for shows like For All Mankind and Nashville, and joined The Flight Attendant in season 2. “I said to Kaley, ‘Okay, I’m ready, we’re going to match it,’ and she said, ‘No, we’re going to make a change.’”

Koplow scoured Pinterest to give Cassie—who’s now sober, living in Los Angeles near the beach, and working as a CIA asset in addition to her day (and night) job as a flight attendant—a refresh. “I thought, Can we go with a softer version of herself? Not the signature eyeliner that you would see all the time, but monochromatic and soft, almost like a California beauty and just really natural. Nothing was too intense, and that was kind of the biggest change. And Kaley let me run with it. That meant her everyday look would just be really clean, and the eyes would match the cheeks, and the cheeks would match the lips.”

As for Cassie’s hair, the bangs are back, but in less of a curtain style and more piecey. “We wanted to open up the face a bit more so we could see more of Cassie,” hair department head Michael Marcellino (who has overseen your faves from Dead to Me to 24) tells Glamour. “We trimmed her bangs every other week.”

While Cassie’s everyday style is on the fast track to become the must-have cut and look of the summer, there’s also her alter-ego in the form of “gold-dress Cassie” (as she was called on set). That’s code for whenever our favorite messy heroine appears in the sequined gold dress from season 1 and has major bombshell hair with sexy makeup and loose curls. So how did Koplow and Marcellino achieve all the looks, and what did they use? Here, they give us the detailed run-down so you can create it yourself.

This morning, Kaley Cuoco opened up about her divorce from former tennis pro Ryan Sweeting on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (see what she had to say about it here!), and also spilled a few details about her new tattoo.

The* Big Bang Theory* star got a moth tattooed just below the back of her neck to cover up existing ink of her wedding date (December 31, 2013) in Roman numerals.

She revealed details in a lighthearted (yet extremely candid) conversation with Ellen about it: “The [wedding] tattoo was a mistake.

I had to cover it, I had to cover it with the wings, which I think turned out OK,” she said. But what prompted her to choose a moth in the first place? “People do butterflies but why a moth?

What’s the significance?” asked Ellen. “Because it was big enough to cover the numbers…the wings. Big wings,” she joked. “It’s just what I picked out when I was there.”

“It’s just what I picked out when I was there.” Not only is it awesome to see Cuoco able to joke about the topic during such a difficult time (on national TV no less), it’s a reminder that it’s so not worth beating yourself up about a tattoo you no
