Newly separated actress Kaley Cuoco has very publicly removed all evidence of her short-lived marriage by having the tattoo of her wedding date covered over with a giant butterfly.
Kaley, 29, married tennis player Ryan Sweeting on New Year’s Eve, 2013 in a surprise wedding just six months after meeting him.
Shortly after their big day, the newlyweds had matching tattoos of their wedding date inked in Roman numerals (XII XXXI XIII) on their bodies. Kaley had hers placed on the top of her back (image below), while Ryan had the date inscribed in a love heart surrounded by Kaley’s name on his left forearm.
Sadly, the marriage only lasted 21 months and, yesterday, three months after announcing the split, Kaley decided to do away with her wedding date tattoo – and she shared the experience with fans.
She posted the image above of her having the old ink replaced, along with the caption, “@nero_sct the deep, meaningful, larger than life meaning behind this beautiful piece of ink, is….. It covered the last one.”[ew-supplier-carousel]
The new tattoo shows an image of a giant grey butterfly, which some online commentators are describing as a big old moth, is thought to symbolise Kaley’s metamorphosis and the changes she’s gone through over the past two years.

Kaley, who is worth an estimated $20 million USD and Ryan, who is worth about $2 million USD signed a pre-nuptial agreement, however Ryan is seeking monthly spousal support.
Though they have cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as their reason for divorcing, reports suggest Ryan is battling an addiction to painkillers and refused to seek help.
When news of the split was announced, Kaley removed all traces of her husband from her social media accounts and also unfollowed him.
Finally, Kaley will drop Ryan’s surname, having gone by the name Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting during the time of her marriage.
This split affected some part of her life but Kaley Couco was strong enough to conquer all her fears and now she got the best man she would have ever has imagined which is Tom Pelphrey.
