Kaley Cuoco went full bombshell this weekend. The “Big Bang Theory” actress was giving a nod to a role that doesn’t see her show her face – 36-year-old Kaley has been voicing popular character Harley Quinn on the DC Universe’s TV series since 2019. The girl behind the character decided to show off some merch centering around the show she’s also an executive producer for recently. With the good looks that won over “BBT” viewers over a decade ago, Kaley’s snap proved she’s still got it.
Kaley’s photo was a simple one. It showed the sitcom star posing with a sexy pout and her bombshell blonde locks swept to the side and worn down. The California native was flaunting her killer body in a cartoon Harley Quinn t-shirt in white, with the skin-tight materials showing off this yogi’s trim frame. Kaley’s scoop-neck top was giving a major shout-out to the series, with Kaley also name-dropping two Instagram accounts.
@dcharleyquinn was the first shout-out, with the movie franchise’s actress Margot Robbie also mentioned.Speaking to EW about her Harley Quinn role, Kaley revealed that she had taken into account the existing portrayal from 29-year-old Margot.
“There have been so many Harley Quinns, and obviously with Suicide Squad Margot was playing her so incredibly well and so specific, that I didn’t want her to sound like anybody else,” Kaley told the media outlet.
“They initially wanted me to do a strong Boston accent, but I told [co-showrunners] Justin [Halpern] and Patrick [Schumacker], ‘my voice is a little recognizable, and I think it’s gonna be silly if we pretend it’s anything other than Kaley playing this role.’ So it really just became mostly me screaming,” she added.
“From the minute I opened the first script and it starts like that, I fell on the floor laughing,” Cuoco added
“You know exactly what the show is gonna be from the first moment, it’s so politically incorrect and crazy. But what I love about these writers have written some heart in it, including the possible maybe-relationship between Harley and Ivy…? Who saw that coming?”
Kaley does, however, remain best known for playing the street-smart girl across the hall Penny in NBC sitcom “The Big Bang Theory.”
A 2019 interview with She Knows saw Kaley reveal her final thoughts on Penny.
“You know, she’s iconic. She’s the best character I’ve ever played. She has every single quality. She’s funny, she’s [silly and] I’m sill, she’s sarcastic. She loves Leonard and she loves these guys and she’s a real girl,” Kaley began, adding:
“You know, we’ve tackled a lot of issues this year. Her even not wanting to have kids and her wanting to be a businesswoman. I don’t think we’ve seen that a lot in television. I was really impressed that they went that path and yeah, she’s a reason why I’m doing everything that I do in the future will be sent back to Big Bang.”
