LOVE IN THE HAIR Former Wimbledon winner and world’s sexiest tennis player looks unrecognisable in tiny bra and new hair colour

Despite having retired from tennis since 2020, Russian ace Maria Sharapova is still making plenty of money.

Having ditched her very recognisable blonde locks in favour of embracing being a brunette, the former tennis star has a whopping net worth of £145million ($180m).

During her playing days, the Russian beauty won five grand slam titles, completing a career grand slam back in 2012 when she won the French Open.

According to Forbes, Sharapova, who has 4.5m Instagram followers, made £31m ($39m) in prize money during her career, ranking third on the WTA Tour all-time list.

However, she also made over £237m ($300m) before tax off the court, which has helped her net worth considerably.

With a net worth of $180m, Sharapova’s dwarfs that of seven-time grand slam winner Venus Williams, whose net worth sits at £76m ($95m).

Sharapova’s success in the tennis world, coupled with her stunning looks, opened doors for her to secure massive commercial deals which helped the Russian earn far more away from the court.

The 36-year-old has brand deals with Nike and Evian, as well as stakes in Public.com and crypto firm MoonPay. She also has a seat on the board of fashion company Moncler, as well as deals with start-up businesses Therabody and Tonal.

Despite her achievements in tournaments, her looks saw her gathering as much, if not more, attention away from the courts.
