Monica Bellucci has opened up about aging gracefully, saying she wants to ‘get old in a peaceful way’ and isn’t ‘obsessed’ with maintaining her figure in her 50s.

The Italian actress, 57, shared her thoughts about getting older in an interview with the Sunday Times Style magazine, saying she prefers wine, pasta, and the occasional Pilates class to grueling workouts and restrictive diets.

I am not obsessed. I’ve always been a curvy woman, never so skinny, that’s my nature. And I want to get old in a peaceful way,’ she said.

When you are 50 or 60 you don’t have the same needs as when you are 20,’ she added.

‘You change, like when your baby comes into the room, you see that the first thing is her. We come in second. This gives us another perspective.’

Bellucci graces the cover of the magazine in a black dress that hugs her famous hourglass curves.

Her raven hair is pulled back, and her eyes are closed as she poses with her hands on her face.

While she makes sure to get enough exercise and watches what she eats ‘a bit’ when she is working, she doesn’t go to extremes.

The model chooses to view aging in a ‘matter-of-fact’ manner and sees the beauty in it.

‘There are many different moments in life,’ Bellucci explained.

‘When you are very young, you have what in France they call “la beauté du diable,” the beauty of the devil, which is just natural, it is the beauty of youth, the beauty of a biological moment in your life. And life goes on.

‘The physique, it gets old and we have to deal with that. There is nothing we can do. At the same time we are lucky, because if we get old it means we have a long life.

As the body goes down, the soul grows.’ During the interview, Bellucci looked back on becoming the oldest Bond love interest in the franchise’s history.

She was 50 when she starred in the 2015 film Spectre with Daniel Craig, who is four years her junior.
