Country star Miranda Lambert and her husband of five years, Brendan McLoughlin, 32 — a former Staten Islander and former NYPD police officer — have welcomed a new member of their family.
The Grammy Award winner, 40, took to Instagram to post a video compilation to announce “Cool,” the couple’s new horse, saying, “Please welcome the newest member of our family. This is ‘Cool’. “He is one of the sweetest horses I’ve ever met. He does it all with grace and patience and has already taught me so much. In the last few months I’ve picked up the hobby of mounted shooting and in the process I’ve made some amazing new friends including this handsome fella.”
The videos show off Miranda’s mounted shooting skills as she rode Cool in an outdoor riding course. Some photos between the videos showed Miranda bonding with Cool, with blonde hair styled in braids, sporting blue jeans, a cowboy hat and boots, and a blue bandana to accessorize her plaid shirt.
Her fans were equally smitten with Cool, commenting underneath her post: “Right on yes, get out of comfort zones and keep practicing and building confidence to do new things. Find your people and your horses! Hmmmm sounds like a country song to me.” Another wrote: “Not too shabby tracking that steer, too! Once you start cowboy mounted shooting, you’re hooked! Congratulations on your new partner, and enjoy the journey!”
PERFECT TIMING
Having turned 40 last November, Miranda continued to say that Cool “came at a perfect time” in her life. “He came at the perfect time in my life when I needed a challenge and to try something new,” she said. “I turned 40 in November and I’m ready for a decade of pushing myself to be better and bolder both personally and professionally.
“This feels like the perfect beginning to that journey. Thanks to my great friend @kenda_lenseigne for this match made in cowgirl heaven. Mark and Karen Plumlee loved this horse so much and are kind enough to trust me with him for his next adventures.” Lambert and McLoughlin can be seen in one of the group photos in the announcement. The handsome couple started dating in November 2018 after meeting on the set of “Good Morning America,” when Lambert — a three-time Grammy winner, with 27 career Grammy nominations — was there to perform and McLoughlin was on security detail.
The two were only together for a few months when they got married in January 2019 in a private ceremony, announcing their nuptials to the public on Valentine’s Day of that year.Back in 2023, the star posted a wholesome Instagram post of her with her handsome husband at their Tennessee estate.The mesmerizing footage, captioned “Happy New Year from my happy place ❤️ Love Brendan, me and the farmily. #FlyinPistolsFarm,” includes glimpses of their rarely seen country home down south, replete with images of their dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens and other barn animals.
