Hilary Duff is on the cover of Australian Women’s Health and she came to play. The singer-actress modeled a stunning one-piece bathing suit (want) that showcases just how strong she is right now. Her arms, legs, everything are impressively toned, while Hilary straight-up glows on the cover. Hilary posted about the experience on Instagram, including some other photos that show her drinking water, making a kissy face at the camera, and working a cool-girl pair of sunglasses.
“Oh Australia how I miss you! They let me keep the suit because I liked it. Now I can’t find it. Thank you to all the people who made this day as breezy as it could be ,” she wrote in the caption. People cheered her on in the comments. “Looking gorgeous and fit!” said Kyle Richards, while Kim Cattrall chimed in with “Wow!!!”
Hilary shared in the cover story that she’s learned to shift her thinking about her body from trying to be skinny to wanting to be strong. “[I’m] appreciating my health, doing activities that make me feel strong instead of just bettering the outside of my body,” she shared. That includes “spending time with people that make me feel good and share similar views on health and body positivity and getting enough sleep and balance in my diet.”
To get strong all over, Hilary enlists the help of personal trainer Dominic Leeder, who stressed the importance of setting realistic goals. “Reaching your fitness goals is more of a marathon than it is a sprint,” he said. “And making it a marathon means that my main focus for my clients is to not just to reach their goal but to keep their goal. And doing it quickly often doesn’t allow them to keep it.”
Leeder also broke down his workouts with Hilary. “When I met Hilary, we decided to focus on resistance training, because we wanted to build lean muscle mass and up her metabolism,” he shared. “Her diet was also a huge factor and I wanted to make sure that she was eating the correct amount of macros for the goal that she needed.”
The two also do strength training, focusing on giving her heavy weights that she can do eight to 10 reps with. “After that, we would then drop the weight down and do eight reps at a slower rep range,” he shared. “I’ve found it’s the best way to gain lean muscle mass if it’s mixed with a sensible science-based diet.” Hilary previously told Women’s Health that she started working with Leeder in early 2022, doing hour-long workouts four days a week in her garage. Those included things like lat pulldowns followed by single-leg bent-over dumbbell rows, or tricep pushdowns with a stability ball skull crusher. She also did 30-second cardio blasts of things like jumping lunges, and hiked or played tennis on her off-days.
